Leeds & Liverpool Canal.

We are now at the highest elevation we will take the boat to, and we’ve also been as far north as we are going.  Up until today we were heading south again.  However the canal gods had a different plan for us.   A cill has popped at the Barrowford flight of locks.   Yesterday it was a 24hr fix, today it involves scaffolding, approvals from the heritage listing people, and a lot more repair work than was originally thought.   Also they still haven’t stopped the water running into the lock.  As we are flying on Monday and the boat needs to be left somewhere we turned around and put the boat into one of the marinas we had passed.    Thankfully they had a vacancy.   I just hope the weather holds out until we get back, I really don’t want to be stuck up here over winter.    We are basically at the Lancashire/Yorkshire border.
