Market Harborough

We were only going to stay here overnight but ended up staying the best part of a week.   Excellent basin at the end of the canal, £10 p/night after 24 hours – but that includes power!  Also lots of moorings outside of the basin. We had a very nice impromptu boaty type dinner gathering on the footpath with 2 other boats who were also moored there.  Lots of food appeared and much alcohol was drunk.  Well restored buildings around the basin, including a licenced restaurant.  The town is a nice walk with lots of interesting shops.   Not just the usual chain stores.

Great excitement on the way into the basin.  We saw a Corn Snake in the water, it was orange.   Very cool.

The Basin. All the buildings are restored warehouses.
