Well it’s Glastonbury weekend and naturally its raining. It’s almost guaranteed on this weekend. Not that it’s affecting us as we are again holed up in a marina, paying for electricity – 2 of our 3 new batteries have failed! But they are under a 3 year warranty so they have gone off for deep cycle testing (or something blah blah blah along those lines) and then they will replaced. It’s understandable that they need to do this, but bottom line is – new batteries not holding charge. We won’t get them back until Tuesday. Not a great marina. We are on someones private mooring so we have a little garden – that’s about the best thing I can say about it. I’ve never been anywhere where the manager of a venue has been so universally disliked.
On a funny/scary note though yesterday a boat came past us without anyone on the back at the tiller steering. The only other times I’ve heard of boats travelling by themselves, its usually ended up with police divers looking for bodies. On this occasion though it was another crazy Grand Union narrowboat that is operated from the interior at the front with a steering wheel, I happened to see him as move as he went through a bridge. NB Ocean Princess. It would be interesting to know how many people have jumped onto the boat thinking there was a problem.
