The Oxford Canal

Its a beautiful canal.   Some of the nicest countryside we’ve seen.   Very twisty and turny.   The down side is big lack of moorings, if you see one on the end of a lock mooring, grab it.   And the towpath is pretty non existent along a lot of the canal.  Yesterdays weather was horrid.   Rain and wind all day long – too wet for my cameras.   We wouldn’t normally bother moving in this sort of weather, not that we’ve had that many bad days of travel, so I can’t really complain.  It cleared up a bit when we stopped.   We passed the Earth Satellite Station on the way to Enslow Wharf – where we moored for the night.

There are lots of interesting military aircraft in the air at the moment.  There must be an aircraft base somewhere close – possibly RAF Brize Norton.
