Up the Hatton Flight

It’s been a lovely sunny Bank Holiday weekend and yay – finally we moved from Warwick and are on our travels. We were later leaving than we would have wished. We arranged to travel up the locks with a couple who were getting a pump out, but after hanging around waiting for them for the best part of an hour we decided to move on alone. Sure enough 3/4’s of the way through filling the first lock they came round the corner. We waited for them at the next lock and did the rest as a pair. It’s easier to do these locks with others, cuts the work load in half, saves water and generally makes it quicker to do them. We stopped at Hatton near the train station for the night as I need to return the car tomorrow. We are going to head towards Stratford on Avon then towards Birmingham. We traveled up 21 locks, it took 2 hrs & 45 minutes, then had to walk all the way back to get the car, and are now both exhausted.
